I started my career in academic research, after receiving my doctorate in Electrochemistry from the University of Manchester. I subsequently transitioned into project management, serving as programme manager for a €4.8M civil engineering research project, funded by the European Commission. That resulted in over a decade of experience in R&D management. I have also worked as a technology consultant and as a research fellow for the UK Parliamentary Office of Science and Technology.
As Technical Director for Sustainable Smart Technologies, I work to deliver smart building projects for clients – from multinationals, social landlords, innovation funders and more. Given my scientific background, I underpin a lot of the technical advice that we give to our various clients. I particularly enjoy working on product design and development, whenever time and opportunity allow. I also oversee technical strategy, I support solution architecture, and I ensure that our systems deliver on both operational and environmental performance objectives.
Sustainable Smart Technologies Ltd is just one element of the wider Group, but we are all united by a shared purpose: combining expertise and technology to deliver smarter, sustainable solutions for domestic and commercial sectors.
It is an important and dynamic sector, and I’m proud to be a part of it. We are committed to positively impacting society by transforming workplaces, leisure areas and living spaces through advanced insights, monitoring, and evaluation.
